COVID-19 UPDATE

Scratch that! Activate Plan C....

August 15,2020 update: Due to concerns around travel for our family members who are part of the high-risk population, we went back to the drawing board. Sean and Kara will be getting married in, not one but TWO wedding ceremonies!! (initiate internet confetti) The ceremonies will commence on the beach in Ocean City, NJ on September 19, 2020 with Kara's family and culminate on the beach in Santa Barbara, CA on October 3, 2020 with Sean's family. We feel very fortunate to have the support of our collective family and friends as we navigate the myriad of complications thrown our way. We will be updating with how to watch the ceremonies and cheers with us! June 25, 2020 update: After a lot of careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to completely change our plans. We will be (conditions permitting) tying the knot in an intimate ceremony with only our immediate family present on September 16, 2020 in Aspen, CO. We are planning to have the ceremony available via livestream so that you can still be with us virtually. We hope to have a larger celebration in the future when we will not have to ask you to risk your health or to refrain from getting your boogie on! More information will become available as we are able to plan for that.

How we met

Because the data told us to...

After many swipe-lefts, they found themselves looking at each other's profiles and noticed that the OKCupid algorithm had labeled them as a 99% match... they couldn't NOT give it a try! She picked the day and he picked the place and together they ate and chatted until they realized that no one was left in the restaurant except them and their waitress. It had turned out that the restaurant had closed down around them about an hour before and not wanting to disrupt their first date, their waitress allowed them to continue. As the night came to an end, he offered to drive her home but asked for one thing in return: "can I meet your dog?" Upon arriving at her home, she retrieved Bailey and noticed that Bailey approached him right away without her typical protective growl and hesitance. It didn't take long for them to schedule the second date... then the third... then the fourth... then they did yoga with goats and then celebrated Hanukkah together and then New Years... and then they lost count. Then 1 year 7 months and 1 day after that first date, he orchestrated a wonderful surprise scavenger hunt culminating in their engagement!
