Sean came to Pullman in August of 2006 and got plugged into Living Faith Fellowship. 6 years later, Kaella showed up and started attending the same church. They met through mutual friends and were friends for many years.
We became close friends after Sean returned from his adventures in San Diego. Over the course of a couple years, we both bonded and all the feels started to emerge. Kaella was unsure of this bearded man and kept her heart guarded while secretly falling for him starting in February 2019. Sean took a bit longer but he started to see the light and acknowledged his feelings in Fall 2019. On December 12th, 2019, Sean anxiously asked to talk with Kaella alone. Up to this point, they had only hung out with other people in an effort to protect their friendship. Sean told Kaella that he had feelings for her. Kaella responded with I don't know... But after talking to close friends and letting herself feel the emotions she was guarding herself against, she said yes on December 14th, 2019. Sean was confused because he never actually asked a question, only stated how he felt. But we figured it all out in the end!
We went through various seasons of uncertainty, adventure, conviction, and lots of laughter. Over the last year and 9 months, God has strengthened us through it all! He is so faithful and good to us. We sought Him in the struggles and rough patches. We praised Him through it all! Finally, on Monday, September 6th, Sean proposed! Kaella had no idea it was happening which was the perfect proposal because she is quite the planner. Kaella's close friends asked her to come over to see the projects that their kids had made Auntie Kaella over the Labor Day weekend. So Kaella went over expecting to go home with some lovely art projects. What she got was a fiance (and some art projects)! The kids had each made a sign that when combined, said Will You Marry Me? Sean got down on one knee with the kids in the background. Kaella, of course, said yes! We ended the night with friends to celebrate.
Now we are ready and expectant for all God will do through this engagement season and how He will provide in our marriage. We are so excited to celebrate with our friends and family as we bring glory to God and remember the goodness that God has brought to us! Thank you to each and every one of you who has loved us in the good and the bad as we grew into the people we are today. We wouldn't be here without you!
