How We Met

Once upon a Six Flags summer

You may have thought this was going to start with one of those magical "carnival" style date nights, like in the movies. Really, it was 18 year old Sean in panic mode because a guest collapsed at the ride he was working at. After calling first aid, little did Sean know, the guy he met online recently, would be the one to "save the day." Joe just happened to be on shift that day and was the one to respond to the incident. As things got settled, all it took was for Joe to say, "your voice is deeper than I thought," for everything to change. The night ended with a phone number and text messages until sunrise. From there it's been the greatest roller coaster ride of our lives. Oh, don't worry, the guest was OK and Sean also failed the audit from Joe of how the situation was handled.

The Proposal

12.01.2019

For years, Joe said he didn't want to be the one to ask. So, Sean finally got the courage to ask. If you know Joe, you know he's been dropping hints for years (ask anyone), but Sean being the planner and worrier that he is, needed to find the PERFECT time to ask the question. So the night started out with just like any other date night. Dinner at Sasha's on Shaw, followed by going to see Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Sean wanted it as "St. Louis" and "Us" as possible. Little did we know, it was going to be a night that mother nature didn't want to play nice. As we walked around Garden Glow, Joe wasn't feeling the snow and sleet hitting us in the face. Sean ordered hot chocolate and convinced Joe to keep moving along. There's a famous house you walk through and the back garden was THE SPOT. A photographer was all set up and ready to go!. "Let's take a selfie, Babe!" turned into to Sean dropping on one knee and FINALLY asking the question. I think the whole place heard Joe let out a cry and then he finally said YES! Back at the house...roses, Veuve, and chocolates were all set up and waiting! (Thank you, Lindsey!) *Queue the stressful year of wedding planning. :-)*
