Maid of Honor
Sophie was my partner in crime in kindergarten when we got in trouble for talking during naptime. Since then, we've made it through Girl Scouts, high school, and an all girls dorm at UGA together. She's the lead singer of her band, True Blossom, a doting aunt, a connoisseur of discounted post-holiday candy, and a truly lovely human.
Bridesmaid
Caitlin and I were the introvert founders of our girl gang in middle school. We suffered through cotillion together and haven't danced a waltz since, like the rebels we are. She's an expert Baker, a Beatles fanatic, and has the most massive collection of penguins you have ever seen. She is the most thoughtful person you could hope to know.
Bridesmaid
Catherine and I have known each other since fourth grade and have been friends since seventh. She is a force of nature, a giver of good advice, and a late sleeper in-er. She has the best hair in town and can tell you which Atlanta queso joints are worth your time.
Bridesmaid
Maranda and I became friends in middle school and since then has filled my life with sass, laughter, and colorful stories. She is is one of the most charming and witty people I know, but is also an accomplished elementary school teacher as well as a loving wife and dog mom.
Bridesmaid
Anna is my cousin. She is the coolest of cats and and is guaranteed to have a friend to stay with in any major city you can think of. She's an expert level listener, a doting aunt, and a photo dodging extraordinaire.
Bridesmaid
Kathy is my cousin. She is the women's chess champion in Ohio, an amazing teacher, and is somehow one of the only extroverts to come out of our family. She is a wife, a dog mother, a human mother. Kathy is a lover of basketball, The Eagles, and making fun of her sister.
Best Man
An avowed hater of shirt-wearing, Raf was my co-adventurer-in-chief and trusted confidant during our childhood and teenage years. He has grown into a wonderful father and amazing husband, and his beard ain't bad either. Ask him about his accent work.
Best Man
As the legend goes, Sam and I met in preschool. He was on the beanbag chair, and I badly wanted that seat. After the dust settled, we became fast friends. Sam is the most delightfully vague person you will ever meet and the future mayor of a small town in one of the 159 Georgia counties he has memorized.
Groomswoman
Caitlin has given me truckloads of great advice over the years, and I'm very thankful that she remained my friend as I callously ignored most of it. A consumate host, excellent sounding board and one of my two favorite people to share a matching tattoo with.
Groomswoman
The 2008 film "Yes Man" is a PG-rated, watered-down adaptation of Chloe's life. She will terrify you and she will inspire you, oftentimes simultaneously. Chloe works tirelessly to save and improve peoples lives, and is one of the bravest people I know. My other favorite person to share a matching tattoo with.
Groomsman
This devilish young man is one of the most personable people I know, and we have spent many hours giddily listening to great music and goofing off, often while escaping family functions. Growing up, Eric heroically assumed the mantle of "Most Mischevious Cousin", which really helped the rest of us escape the spotlight. Now, those years of misadventures have helped him grow into one of the most entertaining and hilarious people to be around. Just ask his wife Marci!
Groomsman
The Harrington family is known for its love of music. Robert, however, is the only one that made the leap to playing it professionally. This gigantic jazz nerd can be seen tooting his horn all over the city. Robert is always down for a good conversation and is unrelentingly supportive of his friends and family. He really, really needs to shave that mustache though.
Groomsman
The beloved ex-pat. Archie is one of my favorite people with which to discuss the many mysteries of the universe and society, mainly because he is as brilliant and opinionated as I am. There's no one better to bounce writing ideas off of, or to talk about the Darkness for hours with than this guy.
Officiant
Jane and I have been friends with Max for many years, and originally got to know each other at one of the many, many hangouts he hosted. Max is a great friend, collaborator, listener, sleep-standing-up-er, and the best Super Smash Bros player in the group. There have been too many adventures to count over the years, and Max is the common denominator and the glue that held them so many together. So it is fitting that he will be the one to unite Jane and I forever on our wedding day.
