Our Story

Sean and I’s journey began in 2018 when Sean stepped into Milestone church for the first time. In January of 2018, I was serving in our youth weekend environment when I saw him for the first time. Little did I know that my future husband had just walked into the room. It wasn’t until August that our friendship began. Early on in our friendship, Sean started to develop feelings for me. I had no idea that Sean was beginning to like me. While these feelings were developing, he didn’t pursue anything because I was about to graduate high school, and he was finishing his junior year. We continued to grow our friendship, and Sean became one of my best friends that never left my side. In 2020, Sean and I were both accepted into Milestone College, which is where everything changed. A couple of weeks before classes began, Sean started to develop those same feelings again. I remember the day my friend told me he liked me as if it were yesterday. We were at Target, by the candles, when she said to me that she was pretty sure Sean liked me. I remember telling her she was crazy, and I assured her that he was just my best friend. About two weeks after classes began, Sean and I told each other that we liked each other, but we decided to wait until the end of our first year to go on our first day. Those eight months were so long, but we both knew that the Lord was teaching, shaping, and preparing us to walk into a relationship. In October of 2020, as a college, we took a trip to Arkansas, where we camped out for a couple of nights. On one of the days we were there, it was just us and God for about two hours. During my time in the woods with the Lord, I began to really pray about my relationship with Sean. I didn’t want to jump into a relationship just based on feelings; I wanted it to be something that the Lord had in store for me. As I prayed and talked with the Lord, He told me to continue pursuing a relationship with him. At the end of my time with the Lord, He gave me a date, but I honestly didn’t know what it meant. After our first date on April 25, 2021, to getting engaged on September 3, 2021, planning a wedding for April 29, 2022, and postponing our wedding by a year, we discovered that the date the Lord gave me was our wedding date… April 28, 2023! And it was the best day of our lives!!
