What Should I Do in RVA?

What Should I Do in RVA?

Richmond is full of fun things to do, see, and eat (and drink). That said, this is by no means a comprehensive list. Our number one suggestion is to eat and drink all the things! Obviously we haven't lived in RVA in several years, but to our knowledge, all of the places and things listed here are still running strong!

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

200 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 340-1400

The site of our first date... and our engagement photos! Many photo opportunities, a restaurant, and beautiful architecture await you!

Virginia Museum of History & Culture

428 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 340-1800

Right next to the VMFA! Take a gander!

Shyndigz

1903 West Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 938-3449

So, we're ordering cake and pie from Shyndigz. Just in case you're craving more, we wanted to make sure that you know about their dessert only restaurant.

Scott's Addition

Richmond, VA 23230

Home to Richmond's biggest cluster of breweries, meaderies, and a barcade! We suggest you check out the Veil, Strangeways, Circuit, and Blue Bee. There's something for everyone!

St. John's Church

2401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23223
, (804) 648-5015

GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH! It's that church. The graveyard is fascinating and the church itself is too!

Maymont

1700 Hampton Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 358-7166

Bring your hiking shoes! Maymont has a farm, several gardens, and nature center, and a historic home. There's so much to see and it's all beautiful!

Carytown

Richmond, VA 23221

Another pocket of things to do, see, and eat! Lots of neat shops and the like.

Edo's Squid

411 North Harrison Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 864-5488

It's a hole in the wall on the VCU campus. It's loud, it's cramped, but the food is AMAZING. You will need a reservation, but you really really really need to try it.

Whisk

2100 East Main Street, Richmond, VA 23223
, (804) 728-1576

Chef's kiss at their macarons.

Longoven

2939 West Clay Street, Richmond, VA 23230
, (804) 308-3497

10/10 CAN CONFIRM THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Expensive, but amazing!

Metzger Bar and Butchery

801 North 23rd Street, Richmond, VA 23223
, (804) 325-3147

Dutch babies, schnitzel, and cocktails. Super delicious brunch. We think you need it!

Social52 Kitchen & Craft Bar

2619 West Main Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 353-9709

We like this place. Get the steak with chimichurri sauce (if they still have it). It's worth it!

Joe's Inn

205 North Shields Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 355-2282

An RVA classic.

Perly's

111 East Grace Street, Richmond, VA 23219
, (804) 912-1560

We have to be honest; expect a 45 minute wait, and then expect a delicious brunch.

The Dairy Bar Restaurant

1602 Roseneath Road, Richmond, VA 23230
, (804) 355-1937

Before we moved, we were regulars at this diner. It's cheap, quick, and tasty. Plust the milkshakes are pretty fantastic!

Tenka Ramen - Richmond VA

110 North 5th Street, Richmond, VA 23219
, (804) 788-8177

We like Japanese food; this is the only place we know of that does katsu curry. It's delicious.

Hollywood Cemetery

412 South Cherry Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 648-8501

The final resting place of many notable figures, including a couple of presidents! Also probably haunted.

T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge

T Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge, Richmond, VA 23219

A big ol' walking bridge over the James River! Super pretty during golden hour.

For all the days along the way
