Question

What are the COVID-19 protocols?

Answer

Our top priority is the health and well-being of all of our guests, and we hope that with mandatory precautions in place, we will all be able to celebrate together safely. All guests are required to check in at the venue to confirm they are vaccinated or to present a negative test (more info below).

Question

What are the COVID-19 protocols if I am vaccinated?

Answer

If at all possible, please email a photo or copy of your vaccination card to emaliejgainey@gmail.com before the wedding to help expedite check-in on the wedding day. If you do not send it beforehand, please be prepared to present your vaccination card at the venue the day of the wedding. We also strongly encourage guests who are vaccinated to complete an over-the-counter COVID test before the wedding. These can be purchased at your local pharmacy.

Question

What are the COVID-19 protocols if I am unvaccinated?

Answer

Unvaccinated guests must present a negative PCR test at check-in for the wedding, taken within 48 hours of the wedding. That means the earliest you may take your test is Thursday before the wedding. If you need to update your RSVP status, please email emaliejgainey@gmail.com or update your status on this website by September 24.

Question

Do I need to bring a mask?

Answer

Yes! All guests, no matter vaccination status, will be required to mask when using the bathroom facilities in the Clubhouse. Of course, whether you’re vaccinated or not, please feel free to wear a mask for the duration of the event or at any point if you so choose. We will have extra masks on hand for anyone who forgets theirs.

Question

What about COVID safety requirements for venue staff and vendors?

Answer

All Chequessett Club staff are fully vaccinated and will be masked for the duration of the wedding, and all vendors are required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Please see the "Travel" section for some suggestions on accommodations, although there are many other hotels, motels, B&Bs, and Airbnb properties available in the area. If booking at the Sheraton or Ocean Park Inn, you can ask for the Gainey-Strumm rate.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The recommended dress code is cocktail attire - that generally means cocktail dresses, LBDs, and dressy jumpsuits for women and jackets and slacks for men. When choosing footwear, please keep in mind that a lot of the wedding will be in sand.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the venue but we encourage people to carpool if possible!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, we are providing transportation via the Funk Bus to and from the hotels listed in the "Travel" section of this website.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, please let us know if you can make it to the Welcome Party on Friday and the Brunch on Monday. Details in the "Schedule" section of the website.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please let us know when you RSVP if you have a food allergy or any other dietary restriction. We will be serving a plated surf n turf style meal but can make accommodations for allergies or other restrictions.
