Things To Do

Here are some fun places to visit while you're in town!

Dead Fish Grill

2207 Lake Road, Belton, TX 76513
, (254) 939-5771

One of Ashley and my favorite date night spots. A magnificent view overlooking Belton Lake from a high cliff-side perch. Good food and refreshing drinks for a good lunch or dinner getaway.

Salado

Salado, TX 76571

This little town is a short way from Temple, but a wonderful little art community hosting several galleries, shops, and antique stores. They a great craft brewery, glass blowing studio, and much more! Ashley and I love to walk the town and visit the art galleries.

BitBar Temple

2501 Airport Road, Temple, TX 76504

A bar full of upright arcade machines set to free-play mode. When Ash and I first moved to Texas, we found the original in Killeen and it became a regular date-night escape, and they opened a second in Temple last year!

Treno Pizzeria & Taproom

112 South 1st Street, Temple, TX 76501
, (254) 295-0091

Good wood-fired pizzas, and a great selection of pull-for-yourself craft beers on tap.

Bird Creek Burger Co.

6 South Main Street, Temple, TX 76501
, (254) 598-3158

Just a good darn burger place, and Sunday brunch spot.

The Hub

7 South 2nd Street, Temple, TX 76501
, (254) 598-2293

A nice little shopping destination for supporting artisans and local small business. You might just find a nice little souvenir for your trip here.

Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum

315 West Avenue B, Temple, TX 76501
, (254) 298-5172

The beautiful old Temple train station (Temple was founded as a Railroad company town) is now a small railroad museum near downtown. The architecture is gorgeous, and there are a few retired trains to explore. Adjacent to a nice small park, many restaurants, and occasionally a gathering of food trucks around lunchtime.
