We met at a beach party at Myrtle Point through a mutual friend. Ashleigh came over to talk to the mutual friend and Sean joined in on the conversation. We hit it off almost immediately, and soon our mutual friend became a third wheel. We exchanged numbers and chatted a bit after that, but ultimately went separate ways as Ashleigh went off to college and Sean pursued his IT career. Fast forward four years, Sean messages Ashleigh asking her out on a date and sadly, she denies him. It only took Ashleigh less than a year to come around. She saw Sean at the gym and started catching up and the rest is history!

Just before our one year anniversary, Ashleigh had planned a trip to NYC (her favorite city) for the two of us. It had been well over twenty years since Sean had been there, so Ashleigh was dying to show him around her favorite city. On the night they arrived in NYC, Sean surprised Ashleigh with a trip to the Friends Experience (if you know Ashleigh, you know she LOVES Friends). But that wasn't the last of the surprises Sean had in store. As we finished up the Friends Experience, Sean suggests a walk through Central Park because there is a view he's heard about that is gorgeous from there. We get to Central Park and it sure was a gorgeous view. Sean (with the help of Ashleigh's father, Dave) had set up a surprise proposal under a gazebo that was strung with fairy lights, rose petals and candles. When they get into the gazebo, there's a big sign saying "Marry Me". With much excitement and tears, Ashleigh shouted "YES!" as he proposed. Sean even set up a photographer to capture the special moment. It was truly right out of a fairytale book.
