Our first trip away together, we went to Whidbey Island. We had the most beautiful time. We woke up early in our cabin every morning to sit and watch the gentle pond outside. Each morning we would see a small deer and a heron enjoying the stillness with us. We were Mt biking everyday, having so much fun seeing different parks around the Island. On the final day Sean kept saying he wanted to go to Deception Park for sunset. I thought, "Of course we can go to there for sunset." I was completely unaware and also prone to spoiling the entire surprise. We go out to the park, walk along the beach and up the bluff overlooking the Salish Sea. There was a pair of mating herons flying around us, calling to each other. Sean was setting up his camera, taking shots of the sunset. I thought nothing of it. I said "This would be the perfect place for you to propose." He gave me the look of, "I'm trying to." He started getting ready to propose and we both got really nervous. He said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and the rest I blacked out. Somehow I said yes! The sun really started to fade and it being a state park I thought we should go check out the car before they locked the gate. It was really good timing, a ranger was getting ready to leave us a ticket. Luckily we escaped that fate and drove off into the night together.
Sean and I eloped September 29th, 2021 in Kauai, Hawaii. While we were there we took the time to have our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful in Kauai. We hiked 8 miles round trip to a waterfall that is close to 400 ft tall, through the jungles and crossing a raging river several times. It was 10 minutes from one of the rainiest places on Earth that receives over 400 inches of rain every year. We enjoyed a boat tour along the Na Pali coast where we snorkeled on the reef. Most of our trip we camped on the beach and snorkeled with the Honu (Sea turtles).
