I'll never forget this rainy Thursday night. I was cozied up in my apartment working from home that afternoon. Sean had been out golfing most of the day with some friends and rather than getting a call when he was finished there was a knock at my door. To my surprise Sean was standing there with a small white board in hand that read, "Date Card: Let's take a trip down memory lane and head over to where it began. I want you to shine bright like the star you are! Dress to impress for a night out." Now let me back up... Sean had been giving me date cards with a single rose for the past month or so because he knows my guilty pleasure is watching the Bachelor on Monday nights. So this wasn't out of the ordinary, but something told me he was up to something. He left before I could ask too many questions and said he would return to pick me up at about 7pm. That gave me just enough time to curl my hair three times over, run to Target in the pouring rain because of course I had nothing suitable to wear, and pray, "God, if I'm not getting engaged tonight please tell my heart it's going to be ok...BUT if it is supposed to happen tonight you better believe I'm SO ready!" To my surprise, Sean was on-time and picked me up right at 7. We drove to City Works at the Frisco Star where we had our first date about two years prior. We walked under an umbrella from the car to the restaurant talking about how much has happened since our first date and to my surprise he dropped down to one knee and asked me to spend forever with him! I exclaimed "YES" and at that moment the balcony of City Works was illuminated with all of our best family and friends cheering after witnessing our reactions. We made our way up the stairs to our families who had flown in and our friends who drove many miles; all greeting us with single roses at the top. Every detail of this night was so perfect and I can't believe how God has orchestrated Sean and I's story up to this point. Cheers to forever!!
