Question

How should we get to Wyoming?

Answer

Sean and I plan on flying, however I believe there may be some family members who are planning on driving to Wyoming. It is completely up to you! Sean and I have made the road trip previously and had the absolute time of our lives. The drive is extremely scenic once you are in South Dakota. If you plan on driving, you may need to add a couple of extra days into your trip so you are not rushed! If you fly, you may want to look into a rental car once you are in Wyoming as most places require some travel to get to! We have rented a van. There are a couple of different airports near Jackson Hole, WY. We plan to fly into Bozeman, Montana. Idaho Falls Regional Airport is also within a reasonable distance.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have booked an AirB&B that has room for 30 people! Depending on how many decide to stay with us, we believe the TOTAL cost per person would be less than $250! We have it booked for 5 nights. If you would be interested in staying in the "main house" please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. This house is booked from September 10-15. There are numerous houses available to stay in through AirB&B/VRBO if you wish to stay elsewhere! The hotels in Jackson Hole are kind of pricey but also available.

Question

What if we can't go or don't want to go?

Answer

Listen... there are absolutely not going to be any hard feelings. We are having a local reception on November 22, 2025 in Lima, OH as we absolutely do not expect anyone to make this trip if they are not interested! We chose this destination for our ceremony because it is a place we fell in love with and are so excited to have this location be a part of our lives for the rest of for ever! We are CONFIDENT that anyone who makes this trip and has not been to the Tetons before will find just as much beauty in it as we have!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

No dress code! The theme is Western-chic! Guys... think pearl snaps, denim, belt buckles, and boots. Ladies... think fringe, pearls, lace, and boots (I would avoid heels)! Make it what you want, what you are comfortable in! The elopement ceremony will be taking place outside so be sure to dress for the weather! The temperature will likely be in the mid-60's, hopefully with sunshine! No hats during the ceremony, please! It might not be a bad idea to take a couple of different outfits for different weather circumstances!

Question

Am I allowed to bring anyone extra with me?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are only allowed to have 40 people total at the ceremony, due to the permit issued by the National Park Service. It is extremely important we abide by the rules so that we can have the entire ceremony. The only people who will permitted to observe the ceremony are those specific on the save the dates. NOW, if others want to join us in Wyoming but not attend the ceremony, we are all for it!! If that is the case and your crew is interested in staying in the house with us, please let us know as soon as possible. If we need to book another house, we can certainly look into it!

Question

Do we have to pay to get into the park?

Answer

This is unclear to us. When Sean and I entered Grand Teton National Park from Yellowstone National Park, we did not go through an entrance gate and we never saw one in the Grand Tetons. However, the website indicates that there is an entrance gate. When we went a few years ago, we actually purchased a National Park annual pass. These are around $80 but give you unlimited access to all of the National parks in the country for a year. A day pass is priced at $35/car load on the website! This is unfortunately not included in our permit so the intent will be to load the cars up and take as few vehicles into the park as we can! Parking will be limited anyways.

Question

What accessories/gadgets should we bring?

Answer

There is SO MUCH wildlife in this entire area. Definitely bring a good pair of binoculars, bear spray (if you feel the need), and a good camera if you don't want to use your phone camera! The weather can be tricky. To be safe, we would recommend bringing winter hats/gloves and a warm coat, just in case we get snowed on! If you want to hike, definitely bring appropriate gear (count us out on that one). There are several lakes in the area if you want to fish.
