Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Raymond Seamon and Caitlin Priess
October is one of the prettiest months in the Sierra Nevada—think crisp air, colorful leaves, and cozy mountain town vibes. Whether you’re here for a few days or a whole week, there’s plenty to explore before and after we say “I do.”

Genoa

• Harvest Fest – October 18: Local crafts, seasonal treats, and small-town autumn charm at Genoa Town Park (11 a.m.–3 p.m.). • Oktoberfest – October 19: Live music, beer, crafts, and cozy fall vibes. • Halloween Party & Hayride – October 31: Costumes, a community potluck, and a classic hayride at Town Hall. • Mormon Station State Historic Park: Step back into 1851 at Nevada’s first settlement. • Genoa Historic District: Stroll past Victorian-era buildings, the Pink House, and Nevada’s oldest bar. • River Fork Ranch Preserve: Hike or bike scenic trails through wetlands with stunning views of the Carson Valley. • David Walley’s Hot Springs: Soak in natural geothermal pools with Sierra mountain views.

Outdoor and Scenic Views

• Van Sickle Bi-State Park: Hike with views of Lake Tahoe and access the Tahoe Rim Trail. • Hope Valley: Gorgeous golden aspens in October—perfect for photos or a picnic. • Genoa Trail System: Multiple walking and biking routes for all levels.
