Our mothers were very close back in their teenage years and had reconnected through social media in early 2009. To their surprise, they realized they were both vacationing nearby each other up in Lake Tahoe so they made plans to meet up at Meeks Bay, and Jeffrey tagged along. Feelings progressed fast within the course of a few days. There was jet skiing, goofing around, movie watching, healthy competition playing games, and long talks getting to know each other. We were both so comfortable with each other after such a short period of time and it was apparent we were both catching feelings. It only took a few short days before things became official. It also didn’t take long for the first “I love you.” We did long distance for a while, with us living in different areas in California, and eventually, Florida. But we were constantly talking to each other—hours on the phone, texting, video chatting daily, and meeting in person as often as we could. We were glued at the hip—virtually and when together (and still are). The reward of seeing each other made it all worth it. There were shared triumphs, hardships to overcome and tears to dry up, and all that distance to endure for years but one thing is and was for sure, and that’s that there was and is no capacity to our love for each other and no matter what life throws at us, we can get through it — together.
Jeffrey pulled out a family heirloom and family jewelers’ masterpiece of a ring and proposed to Sarah on December 31, 2018 in a crowd full of people at Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe at their New Years party and concert under the fireworks.
The Bride and Groom request that all guests provide negative COVID-19 test to attend the wedding or proof of full vaccine. It would be ideal to have the test conducted within 72 hours of the wedding or no earlier than 2 days prior to trip to Tahoe, with limited exposure or quarantine efforts before the wedding following the test. Masks will be provided. Hand sanitizer will also be provided. If you have any concerns around compliance to these precautions, please notify the Bride and Groom as soon as possible. Special exceptions will NOT be made as these precautions are in place for the safety of all guests in attendance. Please send us an email at sjbrooks.wedding@gmail.com with proof of vaccine, negative test, and/or questions. Again, please notify bride and groom ASAP if any concerns. Thank you for your cooperation and respect for this matter.
