January 21, 2018 - My best friend Kara dragged me out to Seoul Food Meat Company in South End to Sunday Funday. I agreed to go for a little bit, but "wasn't going to stay for long" (famous last words.) We were sitting on the back patio watching the playoff games when a group of guys walked in, and one asked me if the seat next to me was taken. He sat down, and we struck up a conversation and ended up talking for hours. We quickly realized that we had a lot in common. We exchanged numbers and planned to meet up again, but the plans fell through. We didn’t talk for a while until September of 2018, we were both on trips with friends for Labor Day weekend and from there things just fell into place. I was helping Kara move into a townhome in Noda on September 28th, and on our drive over to her new house I said, "that boy Lance lives in a townhome over here". We giggled saying, “what if it's the same one" and lo and behold, it was 5 doors down from his. Lance and I have been inseparable ever since. He invited me to his work Christmas party shortly after, and then I met 24 of his closest friends all at once when I agreed to go on their annual New Years Eve Ski Trip (talk about anxiety lol). A week later he romantically asked me "are you ready to do this?" to which I replied "do what?" and he said "be my girlfriend". Fast forward through so many laughs, fun memories, trips, countless weddings together, and good 'ol Covid and Lance finally did the damn thing. On May 21, 2022 he asked me to marry him in the most romantic and thoughtful way. He set up the perfect proposal and had our friends and family there to celebrate with us. We could not be more excited to see where this journey takes us.
