and so it begins

Olivia has had her eyes on Jacob ever since she got to OCC. They never talked or hung out, really, even though they had similar friends- Olivia would mostly just watch him from a distance and plot how she would officially meet him (not creepy? kinda creepy? oh well!) Finally, in October 2018, Olivia's brother got a group of people together to go to a haunted house and guess who was in the group? Jacob Casey. No moves were made, but they at least were formally introduced.

Five months later, in March, Olivia couldn't shake the idea of getting to know Jacob more. She reached out to a good friend of them both, telling him of her crush on Jacob. He then planted the idea in Jacob's mind, and once they both got back to campus after Spring Break, Jacob and Olivia began talking and expressing more interest in each other. Library/study dates led to ice cream dates and then led to officially dating about a month later!!

To celebrate their one-year anniversary of dating, Jacob and Olivia planned a fancy, homemade dinner date at Jacob's grandparents' outdoor patio on the lake. After a night of eating, talking and reminiscing on their year together, Jacob invited Olivia to dance under the patio lights to one of their favorite songs. After the song ended, Jacob got down on one knee and surprised Olivia with a proposal! Of course, she said YES!!!!!

Once we're married, we plan on pursuing any ministry opportunity that God gives us! Jacob will use his Student Ministry degree in a church, and Olivia will use her Biblical Justice degree to dive into community development and non-profit work in whatever capacity that will look like. We're uncertain of where we will end up, but we are excited to see where God leads us. We'd appreciate your prayers during this season of transition and unfamiliar ground!
