Through the years of being with Lane, I learned he is a methodical thinker. He likes to make the right decision the first time. The story of us is certainly not off-brand, so it's quite long. Here's the short version. After being introduced to him through a mutual friend at church in the summer of 2015, Lane and I ended up in the same art class at school. I truly believe this was not a coincidence, and God obviously had a plan for the two of us. As my senior year went on, our friendship grew through art class, FFA, numerous hours in Cassie Fransen's classroom, and driving way out of my way to take him home. Once I graduated, I spent the summer in Texas (where we live now), and shortly after coming home, we started dating. TLDR: We were introduced through 2 mutual friends and then became friends while in the same art class in high school in 2015. We started dating on October 24th, 2016.
Lane came home from killing bugs early in the afternoon. He had been telling me since Christmas I had a necklace coming, and it was going to be delivered on the 6th, but it wasn’t. So when he came home, I asked him to check its tracking code. He went back outside and came in with a Fed Ex box that I assumed was my necklace. I was super pumped, asking, “is that my necklace!?” He pulled packing peanuts out one by one until he pulled out a ring box - obviously not a necklace box. He dropped to one knee, I pulled my placeholder ring off, and said yes... immediately.
