Fall 2019

August 2019 I (Cheyenne) sat at my new desk anxiously awaiting the start to my first day of PTA school. The classroom was packed and buzzing with anticipation. About 5 mins before the start of class, a cute boy makes his way to one of the only seats left, right behind me. I heard the way he was instantly friendly with our classmate Shelbi, and ready to share any helpful info he could since he was having to retake the course. I immediately turned around to have him highlight which textbooks were essential, and he did so with a smile. We formed a lab group with the 3 other girls sitting around us and became good friends. The more we talked the more we felt a connection. One day after class we both stuck around to study before going home. We discussed a variety of topics including school, politics, religion, mental health and other serious life experiences we had. Throughout the first semester, our friendship and curiosity grew for one another and we found ourselves faced with a decision: to date or not to date. We were going to be stuck with each other in our program for essentially 2 years, so it could get pretty uncomfortable if things went south. But as we sat on my couch weighing the pros and cons, Taylor took the step to push us forward, and a couple of weeks later asked me to officially be his GF. Throughout these past few years of dating we endured the natural growing periods of a new relationship, a global pandemic, a rigorous and challenging program, and various other things. But it was beautiful and we stuck through it as a team. Friday May 13 2022, Taylor pulled off probably the biggest surprise of my life by flying out to Portland during a trip with my dear friend Rachel, and proposing “under” the HorseTail waterfall. As Rachel was taking photos of me at the waterfall, I turned to see the unexpected familiar face walking my way and I lost all sense of reality. I was so shocked! What was Taylor doing in Portland? And then he pulled out a ring and got down on one knee, where he asked me to marry him. And now here we are! Planning a wedding:) Welcome to our journey of love, hehe.
