FAQ

If you have any questions that aren't covered here, just let us know!
Question

So... COVID-19.

Answer

(Updated 8/15) Well, we thought we were in the clear, but it seems we need to take the Delta variant more seriously than first thought. For the safety and comfort of all of our guests (including many with young children who aren't yet vaccinated), we are asking everyone attending to please take a COVID test and confirm your negative result with us within the week leading up to the wedding. We ask that you also please take care to limit any potential exposure between the time of testing, and traveling to McKenzie Bridge. How you test is up to you—in a medical office or at home (there are a number of inexpensive at-home tests available at most pharmacies these days). Please let us know if you'd like any recommendations. We realize this may be considered an inconvenience to some, but is an inconvenience we feel is worthwhile to ensure we gather and celebrate safely. Please reach out to either of us directly with any concerns—we're happy to discuss further.

Question

What meals should we plan for ourselves? Are there restaurants or grocery nearby?

Answer

You'll want to make plans for any meals outside of the Friday night welcome reception (pizza party!) and the Saturday reception dinner. If you choose to dine locally, about a half mile from Loloma Lodge you will find the McKenzie General Store & Obsidian Grill Restaurant (local and beloved, casual grill with lovely patio seating) and the Mckenzie Station Restaurant, Bar & Espresso (decent food but I'll be honest - we visited once and had truly awful, rude service - dine at your own risk). A few miles further down the road you'll find Takoda's Rainbow for pizza and burgers (http://www.takodasrainbow.com) as well as the Blue Sky Market where you can find most basic grocery supplies. We are planning to visit the McKenzie General Store/Obsidian Grill on our way out of town on Sunday around 11am, for one last meal before we hit the road. All are welcome to join! Will ask for a rough headcount sometime during the weekend so we can give them a heads up.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

If you have kiddos, they're invited. 🙂 We know some of you plan to make it a "Parents' Night Out," and that's awesome too! Whatever floats your boats.

Question

Song requests for the reception?

Answer

We've opted to go with DJ Spotify for this soiree. Got a few favorites you want to dance the night away to? Add them to our public wedding playlist here!: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6pIlFFXx9gaiaUR4MP4C6X?si=373a2f34e9be4e34 Disclaimer: Any and all jam band requests will be vetoed, shamed, and may result in immediate and forceful removal from the grounds at bride's sole discretion.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Not really. If you're comfortable, we're happy! But for those of who you thrive on direction, the standard dressy casual/semi-formal/garden party categories would all be fine choices to use as guidance. Just remember, we'll be outdoors (uneven ground) in central Oregon (hot daytimes, cool nighttimes).
