We were set up on a blind date! I wore $1 high heels I got at a yard sale that day and told my second cousin who was with me that I would just go for an hour, and here we are 10 years later this year! We had 6 "chaperone" friends with us on that first date. Scott said I was very serious on the date but he had a feeling I was wild. Whenever I'm whacky he now says, "You weren't like this on the first date." Scott asked me very intentional questions like what is joy to you, which surprised me and I loved his depth and presence. A few hours into the date our friends went home. Scott says "I wore down the chaperones." At the Press Room, the song Mommas got a squeeze box came on the juke box and I yelled, "I love this song!" and danced around. I thought it was about a woman playing the accordion! Our second date was 8 days later because Scott was camping with the kids. He cooked an incredible meal for me and then we went to see Diana Krall at the SB Bowl. We had our first kiss that night in the yard under a shooting star.
