As Baldersnäs is only accessible by car, we recommend renting one for the weekend. It makes travel smooth and gives you the freedom to explore the area since public transport and taxi/Uber options are limited in the area.
The wedding weekend begins on Friday at 6 PM. We recommend arriving by Thursday night or Friday afternoon.
Guests are responsible for getting to Baldersnäs. Once you arrive, everything for the wedding — including the hotel rooms, welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception — is within walking distance. For guests staying in Åmål, a shuttle will be provided to and from the wedding venue.
There are several parking areas close to the hotel rooms, and parking is free for all guests. There are also two chargers available for electric cars. You may drive up to the white house upon arrival to drop off your bags before parking. Baldersnäs kindly recommend parking by the the stone barn parking area to keep cars out of the background during the wedding photo shoot.
We’ve reserved all rooms at Baldersnäs for our families and long‑distance guests. There’s no need to book anything directly at this time - we’ll share your specific room and pricing details as we get closer to the big day. Local guests who are not staying at Baldersnäs will be offered shuttle transport to and from Åmål.
If you are a family member or part of the wedding party and would like to give a speech, please contact our toastmadames, Lisa and Elin, at toastmadames.lisa.elin@hotmail.com.
Formal Attire For men: Suit with a tie. Colourful outfits are very welcome! For women: Cocktail, midi‑ or full‑length dress. Colourful outfits are very welcome! Practical note: You will be walking on gravel, grass, and cobblestones outdoors during the weekend, so comfortable and stable shoes are recommended.
At Baldersnäs, the area offers beautiful English‑style parks, gardens, and a pergola to explore. For those who enjoy being outdoors, there is a walking trail that goes around the entire peninsula. You’re welcome to join an optional boat trip on Friday late morning before the wedding weekend begins. Check the Schedule page for more information. You can also swim in the lake, just a short walk from the hotel, and enjoy the lakeside sauna. Kayaks and SUP boards are available to rent through Baldersnäs by emailing info@baldersnas.com or calling +46 531‑412 13.
We’re so grateful that many of you are traveling far to celebrate with us! Since we’ll be traveling right after the wedding, we have very limited space for physical gifts. If you would like to give us something, we kindly ask you to check our wedding registry, where contributions to our honeymoon are the most helpful.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those listed on the invitation.
We love children, but we have decided to have a child-free wedding. Exceptions will be made for breastfeeding infants this day.
June in Sweden is bright and beautiful — the sun barely sets! We recommend bringing: A light sleep mask if you’re sensitive to the midnight sun. Swimwear, in case you want to take a dip in the lake. A light jacket or sweater, since evenings can still be a bit cool. Comfortable shoes for walking around the grounds and exploring nature. A credit/debit card — Sweden is one of the most cash‑less countries in the world. Cash is still accepted in many places and cities, but you may come across shops, cafés, and parking machines that are completely cash‑free. A travel adapter if you’re coming from abroad — Sweden uses Type C & F plugs (230V).
Early June in Sweden offers mild, bright Scandinavian summer weather. Expect daytime temperatures around 15–22°C (60–72°F), cooler evenings, and long hours of daylight. And since the sun barely sets in Sweden during this month, we recommend bringing a sleep mask for more comfortable nights!
