Like any romantic fairy tale, Sophie and Scott met in Spanish class during their Sophomore year at Santa Clara University. Scott was the shy new guy, just having transferred from University of South Carolina, and Sophie was focused on socializing more then actually learning. Eventually, their paths crossed when having to partner up on an assignment. After hitting it off, they began studying together and sat next to each other in class. Although it's fair to say they did not become fluent in Spanish, they gained an important friendship that continued on even after the class was completed. Two years later, their friendship remained strong (even with a few failed attempts of Scott asking Sophie on dates). At this point, their friends were also trying to set them up. Finally, one day, Scott planned a skydiving trip with his guy friends and everyone backed out. As a last hope of completing one of his bucket list items, Scott asked Sophie if she wanted to take one of the spots and join him. Without hesitation she said yes, drove to Lodi together and jumped out of a plane (sorry Moms!). From there, it was undeniable that they were meant to be together and they started dating. Fast forward seven years from when they first met, Scott and Sophie were in their happy place at Lake Tahoe on a sunny August day. What seemed like one of their favorite days of hiking and swimming in the Lake turned into something even more special. Scott got down on one knee at the top of Squaw Valley in High Camp, 8,200 feet above sea level. From there, it's history. Life has been THAT much better with each other in it!
