We met in San Jose at a beautiful cafe called Flor Cafe that we affectionately call "Nuestra Cafe" (Our Cafe). For me it was definitely "love at first sight"! We ended up having another date where I was staying in Barrio Escalante. We listened to Christmas Music in Parque Francia and then went up to a beautiful view of San Jose where I staying at the URBN apartments. We went our separate ways a few days later. I went to Panama and Shirley went to Europe to see her daughter and her daughter's fiancé in Germany. While we were apart, we maintained contact through WhatsApp. I spent the next month traveling through Panama (Bocas del Toro, Boquete, Panama City, El Valle de Anton, David). It was quite evident what I was feeling and I decided to return to San Jose to see Shirley. She had scheduled a weekend for us at the hotel that we are getting married at (Las Terrazas). It's here at Las Terrazzo where we continued falling in love and despite a "rocky" ending where I ended up in the emergency room in San Jose because of kidney stones, our love for each other just grew stronger. We spent 4 weeks together exploring volcanos, waterfalls and the culture that she lived in and then I had to return to Kansas to sell my business and take care of other things. I planned on coming back to San Jose in May. Realizing that there was no way I could stay apart from her for this amount of time, I flew back to spend 3 weeks with her at her house in San Jose. The first week when I returned, we spent the weekend in Playa Viejo and I proposed marriage to her on the beach and she accepted! I had to return to the US for a wedding and other things and returned permanently on June 5. We are planning on living in San Jose and traveling the world together exploring life and all that it has to offer. We don't know exactly where we want to end up, but San Jose and/or somewhere in the United States are definitely in the mix. It might be a place where we just live for 3-6 months and then move on. We are leaving the door open! We both believe in true love and we both believe we have found true love with each other for the first time in our lives! We are excited to share our adventures and love with our friends at Playa Hermosa where we are planning a beautiful sunset wedding on the beach and a fun celebration of drinks, music and dancing at Las Terrazas!
