What's the weather like?

Answer

Charleston is still lovely this time of year (~80-85 degrees), but it can be humid. In our experience it is muggy in the mornings, but clears up a bit by the afternoons. The sun is STRONG. Please be conscious of your time in direct sunlight and wear sunscreen. Rain showers can happen at any time similar to Florida climate.

How do we get around town?

Answer

We recommend walking AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE - Charleston is a very walkable small city, and it's the best way to experience the town. If cars are a must, we recommend trying LYFT first - Ubers can be difficult to get due to low volume of drivers. Trying both simultaneously to increase odds doesn't hurt! Anticipate at least a 5 (and up to 15) minute wait for Uber/Lyft.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We will be providing transportation from the church in downtown Charleston to our reception at Old Wide Awake, and then back to the city after the reception ends.

When do we need to RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible in order for us to get an accurate headcount to our vendors and save you a seat! :) To RSVP, visit the RSVP page on this site.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No kids under 21, please. Although we love your little kiddos, we politely request no children. We are so excited to celebrate with you on your night off!

Are hotel blocks reserved for guests?

Answer

Yes, please click on the Travel/Hotels tab on our website for more information on our wedding blocks.

Where should we stay if we'd like to have a beach vacation instead of downtown?

Answer

We encourage guests to book a hotel room downtown for at least the night of the reception. If you plan to stay at the beach we recommend doing so the week following the wedding at Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms. Wild Dunes Resort is our suggestion for great beach house options on Isle of Palms.

What is the recommended dress code?

Answer

Formal: suit and tie, dresses, etc. (NOT black tie)
