It was a fateful evening of June 2022 when this very millennial couple matched on a dating app. Masha's note: I signed up for it with one specific goal: to find someone to go to a Chelsea soccer game with. They were coming to play Charlotte in July, and I wasn't about to miss it. I remember seeing Scott's profile picture with Mount Fuji in the background. Coming from a town surrounded by volcanoes, I got excited immediately and swiped right. We matched and quickly decided to meet at the Lewisville Food Truck Festival for our first date. Since then, we've gone back every year as our anniversary tradition. We even ended up buying a house nearby so it's not too far away, talk about commitment to the tradition! On that first date, I also met Scott's brother, his future wife, Caroline, and several of his close friends. It was a little stressful at first, but they made me feel comfortable right away. Looking back, it told me a lot about the kind of people Scott surrounds himself with and made me think, "I can probably trust this guy." Scott's note: I was a lonely lad, locked in the throes of isolation, yearning for the affections of a good woman. As it so happens, I opened my mobile telephone device and commenced the search with such zeal. I told myself: I can’t, nay, I WON’T give up until I find the woman of my dreams, my other half. After weeks of painful finger swipes, I came across a stunning beauty named Masha and her profile. There she was: paddleboarding, hiking, smiling, interesting, and an obvious goofball. I could tell she was an adventurer and a person who loves to live life to the fullest extent while having fun doing it. We hit it off and made a plan to meet up at the annual Lewisville Food Truck Festival. We talked throughout the entire festival and lay there looking at the stars, even after everyone left, both knowing that this was far from the end of a beautiful relationship. We've basically been inseparable after that first date. Being together just felt easy in a way that doesn't happen very often. Neither of us could have imagined where that first date would lead, but we're so grateful it did.
