The Marriage of

In February 2024, Makylee moved into a new singles ward. She was getting ready to move her records, sitting out in the foyer, and then the next ward starting filtering in for their block of sacrement. She overheard that a “Scott Duncan” would be speaking, and the name Duncan caught her attention because the evening prior she had just been at the temple with her two friends Lindsey and Lacey Duncan. She thought there might be a relation so she went in and sat for a second hour of sacrament meeting out of curiosity. He turned out to be unrelated to her friends, however Makylee immediately felt there was something very special about him, and was impressed to join this ward instead. A few months passed, and Makylee was still thinking about Scott. One day she got a feeling to “drop the handkerchief” by reaching out to Scott through Instagram, letting him know she was aware of him and interested. She asked how his day was going, and when Scott replied, she gave him her phone number, and he soon after called her and asked her on a date.

Makylee grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the oldest of 4 children. While in high school, she began the study of cosmetology at the Paul Mitchell school. Makylee is now a Master Stylist with Lunatic Fringe salon! She loves the arts, animals, the ocean, and being home with a warm cup of tea. She is over the moon to begin this new chapter of life with her darling Scott.

Scott grew up in Apple Valley, California, the oldest of 4 children. After completing high school, Scott served a mission in Kentucky and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Scott graduated with a degree in Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation in 2021 and now works for Salt Lake City as a Watershed Ranger. He loves fixing things, being outside, and, most of all, Makylee.
