Our Story

6 . 26 . 13

Although Scott and I both attended Cumberland Valley High School, we never actually knew each other and it was pure luck that we met. I have always stood by the saying "everything happens for a reason," and that could not be more accurate in our case. After having a little too much fun at Bloomsburg University, I decided to return home at the end of my sophomore year and commute to Shippensburg University. During that summer I started working at Marshalls, and that is where I met Scott. As it turned out, Scott was also studying at Shippensburg, and after a few chats about school and Disney World, I knew I could not let this guy go! It became my summer mission to make Scott like me (whether he liked it or not! haha).  Unbeknownst to him, I found multiple methods to get his attention (including friend requesting him on Facebook, which I never do first!) Fast forward a few weeks, and we had our first date (or "hang out" as Scott likes to believe) at the movies. After that, the rest is history!  I never understood people who said meeting "the one" felt so easy. Of course we have our arguments, but in the end, we could not live through this crazy life without each other. I am so glad I decided to go to Shippensburg and in the process meet my future husband. We can't wait to see what our future holds!

The Proposal

12 . 19 . 16

As many of you know, Scott and I are huge Disney fans, so it is only fitting that it is part of our story. Since neither of us had been to Disney World during the Christmas season, we planned our first big trip during that time. From my perspective, everything went perfectly and I actually was surprised (which rarely happens)! I should have known something was fishy when Scott suggested a picture by the wishing well at Magic Kingdom, since he despises taking pictures. I started to walk away afterwards but Scott grabbed my hand and pulled me back. To this day we don't remember what each of us said but I must have said yes because here we are! :) The proposal was better than I ever imagined, and we had a blast for the remainder of our time there. After the fact, I learned that Scott had to overcome many obstacles before getting down on one knee. Our trip began with an overnight stay at the airport due to a blizzard, our luggage was almost lost and I came alarmingly close to finding the ring in his sock when digging through our bag....and that was before our trip even started! Scott's stress level reached an all time high on "proposal day" when he had to remove the ring from his pocket at Security and then go on several rides without the loose ring flying out of his pocket! I was completely oblivious to all of this at the time, but enjoyed hearing about the adventures Scott had to face before getting that ring on my finger. It was a very special vacation we will never forget!!
