Scott and Kayla met on Dickson Street in Fayetteville, Arkansas in the spring of 2014. Scott was back home after college living in Little Rock, but was visiting a college friend for the weekend. Kayla at the time was living in Fayetteville after graduating from Iowa State and out with her friend on a Saturday night. Thanks to the William's family (shout out to Marty, Chris & Christine), they introduced Scott and Kayla that night and persisted that they get to know each other. As Kayla would say she was swept under her feet by Scott's southern charm and Scott was curiously interested in this Iowa raised girl and 6 years later the rest is history!

Kayla was in New York City for her quarterly work trip and had plans to travel back home to Iowa from the city for a friend's bachelorette party. While luck was not in her favor, Kayla's flight to Iowa was cancelled and she was stuck 2 more nights in the city. All while Kayla's itinerary was changing, Scott had already driven from Little Rock to Waterloo to secretly propose! Scott got some great quality time with Kayla's family while patiently and nervously waiting for her delayed arrival. Finally as Kayla arrived in Iowa and walked into her sister's home, Scott was surprisingly standing there, ready to ask her to marry him. He had hired a photographer to capture him getting down on one knee and Kayla excitedly saying "YES", all while Kayla's family was there to celebrate the couple being newly engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Little Rock!
