The Villa
Some might never want to leave the beautiful monastery property. The Villa has a pool, olive groves, kitchens, pizza oven, WIFI, a music system and a stunning view! This is our home for a week - make yourself feel comfortable and enjoy your stay here :)
Castelnuovo di Garfagnana
This is the closest town to The Villa. It is a small town that is bursting with Italian charm
Barga
Barga is about 15 minutes away from the Villa. We have never been, however we have heard it is a lovely Italian town that (uniquely) has a Scottish influence! This is the town we will have part of our ceremony in so everyone will have a chance to discover its beauty.
Florence
Florence is an amazing Italian city. One of mine and my kids favorite places to go. In Florence there is plenty to see and do. Let us know when you go - even if it's before or after the week of the wedding. We will give you recommendations of where to eat, drink, stay and see. Also, if you want to get your portrait drawn we have an old friend who does street art!
Pisa
Two words. Leaning Tower. While we have never been in the presence of this mysterious tower we have heard of its legend. To be honest - we have heard mixed views on if the trip to Pisa is worth it. If you have the time and desire then now is the time to go.
Lucca
An absolutely stunning city! It is a nice place to walk around or bike with wonderful Cathedrals and Plazas to visit.
Portofino
A beautiful coastal Italian town with colorful buildings! It is roughly 2 and a half hours from The Villa. However - it is well worth the trip. If you are interested in seeing more beautiful coastal cities look at visiting Cinque Terre or the Amalfi Coast after or before the week of the wedding!
Grotta Del Vento
CAVES! Never been but it looks very interesting and is only a 35 minute drive from The Villa
Florence Luxury Outlet Mall
For those looking to do some luxury shopping, there is a one-of-a-kind outlet mall just south of Florence. The Mall outlets have any luxury brand you can think of at amazing prices. The mall is 2 hours away from The Villa - but if you want some half priced Gucci, YSL, or Versace this is your place.
