Scott and Julie's moms have been good friends ever since Scott and Julie were young kids. They used to host parties and invite their friends and families over for dinner. Scott, Julie, their siblings, and the other kids had not much in common so they usually resorted to playing Guitar Hero or other activities that didn't require much interaction to kill time. Scott and Julie gladly stopped coming to these parties as they got older and starting spending more time with their own friends.
Fast forward many years later when those awkward dinners were just fuzzy memories, Scott and Julie saw each other at a flag football tournament. He was 19 years old playing on the field and she was 17 years old watching from the sidelines. A quick hello turned into a first date at a park then another date followed by another date. They turned from kids who had not much to say to each other into teens who stayed up all night talking on the phone.
After a few dates (and families shook to their cores that Scott and Julie were, in fact, dating), Julie jetted off to Vietnam for an entire month. There was a big possibility that one month apart would be all it took to fizzle out their short summer fling. But they Skyped every day (midnight for Scott, lunchtime for Julie). One July 4th night, he sent her a blurry video of fireworks along with a Facebook relationship request (she didn’t know, he had to tell her to check Facebook). She clicked accept (he didn’t know, she had to tell him to refresh the page). And that’s how they became official from opposite sides of the world.
Scott and Julie adopted fur babies, graduated college, and built their careers together. They've spent a decade together and have most people assuming that they're already married. Their last names don't help with that ("No, no, we're not married yet. Yes, yes, it's a very common Vietnamese last name.") Scott gathered all of their close friends and family on a beautiful Sunday evening to celebrate Julie's graduation from PA school. He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring and cried so much, he forgot to actually propose. She said yes anyways and they are so excited to celebrate their big day with you.
