Flight

Where to fly into, where to rent cars

--Riverton, Wyoming is the closest airport (half hour from Lander), but options into here are limited, and there are basically no rental cars in Riverton. --Casper offers (a few) more flight options and rental cars. It's about 2:30 from Lander. --The closest International Airports are SLC (4:30) and Denver (5:30).

House Or Rental

Where to Stay

--The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Lander is a half mile / 10 minute walk from the ceremony and reception venue. We haven't arranged a block of rooms but their rates are reasonable. --There are a few dozen nice Airbnbs in town. Stay local; Book early! --Lander's City Park offers free camping (with fun climber / vagabond vibes) including restroom, water, etc. For those looking to explore the mountains, you can also camp in Shoshone National Forest or Sinks Canyon State Park.

Travel Note

Things to do Around Lander

--Main Street: Stroll historic Main Street and check out art galleries, the lander Bar, cafes, and coffee shops --Climbing: The climbers among you will check out Sinks Canyon and Wild Iris, but you didn't need us to tell you that. --Louis Lake Loop: This Forest Service road makes a big loop through the southern end of the Wind River Range, from the top of Sinks Canyon to South Pass, passing by picturesque alpine lakes and trailheads. Pack some water and a picnic lunch and explore the mountains on this great loop drive. --South Pass City State Historic Site: This historic mining boom town is situated in South Pass, right where the Oregon Trail crossed the Continental Divide and began trending downhill to the West. That State Historic site offers some interesting exhibits and there are some short hikes around here that'll allow you to stretch your legs in the thin alpine air. --We are a short (for the West!) drive from Jackson, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone. Add a few days on the beginning or end of your trip and make it a getaway! September is a great month to visit the parks, with fewer pesky children and resplendent fall foliage.
