Flight
We are getting married off the beaten path in Harrison, Maine. The best place to fly into is Portland International Jetport - it is about an hour long drive to the venue. Alternately, you can fly into Boston Logan International Airport - it is about 2.5 hours to the venue and some airlines don't fly into Portland. Renting a car is a good idea if you are traveling in from out of State - the airport hosts most major rental car companies. It's a good idea to book sooner rather than later since Maine is a small state and is quite popular this time of year, with the fall foliage.
House Or Rental
We recommend Airbnb or VRBO for housing for the wedding weekend in Harrison proper or the neighboring towns (Sweden, Waterford, Oxford, etc), and we recommend booking soon, since as mentioned above this part of Maine is popular this time of year! If you prefer an inn or hotel, you can try: Highland Lake Resort - https://www.highlandlakeresort.com/ (2 night minimum + 14 minute drive from venue) Lakeview Inn - https://lakeviewinnmaine.com/ (2 night minimum + 21 minutes drive from venue) Greenwood Manor Inn - https://www.greenwoodmanorinn.com/ (2 night minimum + 9 minute drive from venue) Bear in mind that these inns are small and may book up quickly! Most do not offer books of rooms for weddings because of their small and quaint nature :)
Travel Note
Wedding guests should plan on getting themselves to and from the wedding. It is a small town. If you are certain you don't want to drive, you can call the following cab companies and arrange a pre-scheduled pickup back to your hotels/place of stay. All of them said it was unlikely they would be able to arrange something day of. Please note that Uber and Lyft are not active in this tiny Maine town. Harrison Taxi - (207) 400-4136 Bridgton Taxi - (207) 239-4854 Oxford Hills Taxi - (207) 890-7464
