When should I RSVP by?

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We encourage all guests to follow a semi-formal dress code. For women, this includes a mid or floor length dress, fancy cocktail dress, or a pantsuit. For men, a tux is welcome, but so are suits. No jeans, please.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin punctually at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, so please arrive and find your seat no later than 3:50pm.

Can I bring a date?

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited in your RSVP group on our website.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception an adults-only event. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outside, weather permitting. There will be water provided! In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Capitol Ballroom at the Concourse Hotel. We will notify guests of any changes via the phone number provided in your RSVP by 3:15 p.m. day of. Please make sure your phone number is attached and correct when making your RSVP! The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors.

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an 'unplugged ceremony', so we kindly request that you keep all phones and cameras put away, as we have hired professionals to capture this moment for us. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a block of rooms reserved at the Concourse Hotel and Governors Club for the night of Saturday, May 23rd. If you wish to stay elsewhere, feel free to look at other options in proximity to our venues. View the Travel page for more information.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is available in the Concourse Hotel’s garage for $2.00 per hour, up to a maximum of $24 per day. The rate for overnight hotel guests is $18/night. If your vehicle is over 6’3”, please contact the hotel for parking assistance prior to arrival. Parking is also available in City of Madison parking garages near the Monona Terrace (Wilson Street Garage) and Concourse Hotel (State Street Capitol Garage). Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will not be any formal transportation provided. The Monona Terrace and Concourse Hotel are on opposite sides of Capitol Square. It's about a 10-minute (2 block) walk around the square. We encourage you to park for the weekend and take in the sights of downtown Madison while participating in the events of the weekend!
