Elle and Scott met on Tinder in early January and Elle asked Scott out to an Austin Spurs basketball game. After the basketball game at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Scott knew immediately he met someone special. A week later, Scott asked Elle to "Hello Dolly", the Off-Broadway play at the University of Texas campus. Eventually, Elle spent most of her time at Scott's apartment. In November, Scott, Elle, Maddie, Nick and Trevor moved to Round Rock. In January, Avalon Steele joined their perfectly blended family.
