Courtney and Scott met on the school bus in kindergarten. They grew up as dear friends. From kindergarten to high school they never ventured into romance, although Scott infamously wrote Courtney a love poem from a "secret admirer" which he slipped into her backpack in 4th grade. After high school they lost touch and kept up with each other through mutual friends. When Scott moved back to Atlanta in 2024 he reached out to see Courtney and they met for coffee at 45 South in Downtown Norcross. Though they hadn't seen each other since senior prom it was as if no time had passed! That day they spent over 2 hours in the Discovery Garden talking and catching up. Almost exactly two years later, Scott proposed in the Discovery Garden after grabbing coffee at 45 South.
