Her grandparents, Gaga and Papa Russell, were also members there. - Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club was also Alix's parents wedding reception venue.

On Tuesday, August 23rd, Alix and I arrived in Leland, MI for a week of vacation just in time for a cocktail cruise. I had not planned on proposing that day, but the ring, ever-growing anticipation, and excitement threw all planning efforts overboard. We embarked on a sunset cruise with cocktails in-hand where we put Alix's boat driving skills to practice. As she sped along faster-than-expected, I asked her to slow down and she looked at me panicked, thinking something was wrong. Instead, everything was right and I asked for her hand in marriage.
