Scott and Andi met through another couple, Jerry and Nicole. Jerry is Andi’s cousin and Nicole is a long-time friend of Scott’s. One summer night in 2015 Jerry texted Andi and invited her to karaoke where she met Scott and their friendship began. They quickly became trivia regulars at Applebee’s and Jake’s Pub. They shared a lot in common including both having a cat, enjoying wine, dancing, going to concerts and traveling. They even shared a common dislike of Bruce Springsteen. According to Scott, he sounds constipated when he sings, and Andi concurs. Then, one day in October 2017 Andi and Scott were texting and Scott mentioned he was recently laid off from work. Andi mentioned her upcoming cruise and Scott jokingly asked, “Is there room for me in your luggage?” Well, Andi was actually looking for a vacation mate to hang out at the pool and go dancing with. So, a quick call to the travel agent and Scott was booked. On that cruise they had the time of their lives. It was Scott’s first cruise. It was Andi’s 900th cruise (more or less). They sang karaoke and had a following of fans on the ship. Scott was making Andi’s parents laugh the entire time and enjoyed their company as well. There was even a Bon Jovi tribute band, one of Andi’s favorite artists, performing on the ship where Scott became the entertainment once again. He had a dance off with a young child doing the Curly Shuffle which everyone found amusing, including the singer who gave them a shout out. Everyone on the cruise thought Scott and Andi were already married because of how well-suited they were for each other and how well they got along. Was this a modern day episode of The Love Boat? It wasn’t until almost a year later that they realized this was more than a friendship and made it official! Then, in November 2019 Scott proposed to Andi and the rest is history.
Scott and Andi’s proposal combined two of their favorite things – a winery and live music! On November 16, 2019, Scott got down on one knee and proposed to Andi at Bishop Estate Winery. It has become one of their favorite wineries. Scott and Andi were one of the first to do a tasting there and they’ve watched the winery bloom into a fun hangout with food trucks and entertainment. They’ve been bringing friends and family to Bishop and even had the bridal party get together last summer to enjoy some of the food, wine, and music.
