Scott & Lesley met on Tinder in 2015. Scott swiped right first. Lesley was house- & dog-sitting for her trumpet professor and his family, and preparing to move to Scotland. Scott was preparing for a career shift and moving to a new apartment to live on his own for the first time. They initially bonded over their love for New England sports, and then they found out they grew up in the same town just 3 miles apart! Scott was 2 years ahead of Lesley in school so they never met each other. To them, that was a sign they were "meant to be." For their first date, Lesley invited Scott to come to Storrs so they could meet face-to-face. Scott made baked ziti and then they took the dog for a walk on Horsebarn Hill at UConn. Then they went back to the house and watched Jeopardy, which is Lesley's favorite game show. They felt so drawn to each other and hung out almost every night before Lesley moved to Scotland. When Lesley lived in Scotland for 3 months pursuing higher education, Scott was there on video chat every single night, regardless of the 5 hour time difference. They actually made their relationship official over video chat on September 18, 2015 (although Scott sometimes argues September 17, because it was still that date in CT). Regardless, their relationship grew stronger over the 3 months they were apart. When Lesley made the heartbreaking decision to leave higher education and return home, Scott supported her 110%. He was never judgemental and always understanding & knew the right words to say. For Lesley's 23rd birthday, Scott went to visit her and they spent five days exploring Glasgow and London. It was such a memorable and special time for them. When Lesley came back to the US, Scott picked her up from the airport, and the rest is history. They now live with their two kitties (Mookie & Luna) who they spoil regularly.
