We went to high school together where we were both in choir and had mutual friends. In high school, we could be considered acquaintances and as such we connected on social media; Facebook was just getting popular back in 2007. As the years went on, we both went along and lived our lives going through life with some parallels such as mutual friends and even going to a few of the same get togethers. Over a decade later we both found ourselves single and on dating apps as single people do in 2020; especially during a pandemic. The ironic thing is, we had both seen each other on the apps and swiped left; honestly, sometimes it is weird to see someone you know on "the apps." One day Hinge (one of the apps) sent a notification recommending us to each other, Kelli thought "Why not?" and sent the first "Hey! It's been forever. How are you?" that got us talking again, and honestly... We've been inseparable ever since.
Kelli was late coming home from work, and when she came in she was on the phone (shocker, right?), Scott tried to wait patiently but just couldn't. He finally said "When you're done I have a surprise for you." Of course, Kelli disconnected the phone call immediately. Scott had set up a scavenger hunt around the house, leaving handwritten clues to guide Kelli around the house. The last clue (Landon had to help Kelli find it LOL!) was a beautiful heartfelt note, and when Kelli turned around Scott was down on one knee with the ring in hand. Allegedly Kelli didn't answer the question before she snatched the ring out of Scott's hands and continued to hug and kiss him... Scott had to ask, "So, was that a yes or???" It was 110% a yes! It was a very "us" proposal, Kelli covered in dog hair, Scott in sweatpants and our boys in PJs.
