WE SWIPED RIGHT. Lauren's friend convinced her to make a dating profile on Bumble late one night in April of 2017, and within a few minutes Scott's handsome face appeared. After a few flirty exchanges and a cancelled first date when Lauren’s water heater stopped working and leaked water all over her condo (brownie points to Scott for offering to come help), we met and got to know each other on the rooftop of a restaurant in downtown Austin. We spent most of that Spring and Summer apart, but by the end of the Summer it was obvious to us that we'd found something incredibly special in each other. In August of 2017 Scott and Lauren officially became Scoren. ;)
In March of 2019, we decided that our little family had outgrown our condo and it was time for a home. The house needed a lot of work right away, so there were a lot of long days spent between March and September transforming it into our dream home. On June 4th, 2019, a couple of weeks before we moved in, Scott's sister Staci came to visit. It was POURING rain driving out to show Staci our new home and neighborhood, but somehow Scott kept his cool. We showed Staci the home (still pouring) and finally, just before sunset, the skies parted and the sun started shining. Scott quickly took the opportunity to take a walk down to our clubhouse and golf course. On the 7th hole of the golf course, with our favorite view in our new neighborhood (and a very recently filled creek and waterfall) Scott whispered in Lauren's ear, "I love you so much", and got down on one knee to ask her to spend her life with him. It was the easiest, best "YES!" of Lauren's life.
Our love story, our lives, and much of our future reside in the city that we both moved to for "something new", met, and fell in love in. We are ecstatic to get married in Austin surrounded by the people that we love. We can’t wait to celebrate with y’all Austin, Texas style!
In light of COVID-19, please note the precautions we plan to take on our wedding day: - A hand sanitizer station will be available upon arrival. - Vendors and staff will be required to wear masks throughout the day. - Unless guests have a beverage in hand or are consuming food, a mask must be worn. Additional exceptions apply to this rule. - Guests will wear colored bracelets based on their comfort level. We ask all of our guests to respect each other’s space based on these bracelets (it’s pretty simple… green (hugs, kisses, high-fives!), yellow, and red (keep your distance, please!)). - Tables will have less guests assigned to them than originally planned. - The barbeque buffet will be one sided and staff will wear masks and gloves while serving food to each guest’s plate. - Appetizers will be pre-portioned, rather than passed. - Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected regularly by staff. - We are fully prepared for rain or shine! There will be plenty of room for guests to spread out inside and outside as desired. The precautions being taken by no means guarantee, just as no place today can guarantee, protection from viruses. If you don’t feel comfortable attending we completely understand, and we promise to have you there with us in spirit. If you have any additional questions or concerns as you make your final plans, please don't hesitate to reach out. We ask that you update your RSVP no later than September 14th. We can't express how thankful we are to all of you for your love and support as we become husband and wife. Although not how we initially pictured our wedding day, we are so grateful to know that the best parts of our day won’t be impacted by any virus. With love, The future Mr. and Mrs. Stevens
