We're looking for a more laid back reception where we can spend time talking with friends and actually enjoy the day. There is no dance floor specifically (there should be space if you want to!), but the tables will include small board and card games. We'll have a backdrop for photos, too!
The event is in a brewery, where unlimited beer will be served all night. There isn't a dance floor, but there will be music and table board games, so if you are interested in bringing your children, please reach out to Sarah (her contact info will be included in your save the date and invitation) to confirm. They are certainly welcome to celebrate with us.
Since we know not everyone likes the taste of beer (though we don't understand that), there will be soda and wine provided. Additionally, Boulevard has some hard seltzers that are really good we suggest you try!
If you are coming to the intimate ceremony prior to the reception, please dress in business casual to reflect how the bride and groom will be dressed. Your invitation will specify when to arrive. If you're coming to the celebration after the ceremony, our goal is to have a laid back type of reception, so feel free to wear whatever makes you feel the best. There is no dance floor or schedule for the evening, but it is during the summer, so please feel free to dress comfortably (extra cupcakes for anyone who wears crocs).
We are hiring our photographer for the reception. We're likely going to have some posed photos of the us with our families but then ideally we'll get a lot of candid photos throughout the reception. If you don't want your photo taken, please let the bride or groom know so they can pass it along. There will be a photo backdrop indoors, plus the venue has a wonderful view of Kansas City. If you take any, please use our Instagram hashtag #IWillLoveYouEveryDavis
We have a few registries set up: Amazon Target Honeyfund We are hoping to celebrate our marriage with a honeymoon to Germany for Oktoberfest as that is both of our biggest item on our bucket list. While we appreciate any and all gifts, we have a honeymoon fund set up for anyone who would like to donate to help us with the cost of the trip. Gift cards are also appreciated in place of a physical gift.
We are having a small ceremony prior to the reception, limited to our close friends and family, so we ask that you do not come early.
We have made the decision to change the date of our celebration until 2022. We appreciate that vaccines are readily available and we hope that you've made the choice to get yours, if you're able. However, we decided to postpone until next year out of consideration for those who are unable to receive the vaccine. We hope you understand and will join us when it's safer to do so. If you received a save the date, change the date notifications have been mailed.
Yes! If you haven't heard, we decided to get married in April 2021! We knew we were likely postponing the reception, and we wanted to celebrate our relationship and get married. Additionally, we are moving to another state over the summer! Our original plan from day 1 was to get married earlier and have the reception at a later date. We are still having a semi-traditional ceremony to share personal vows with each other and our immediate family, followed by a celebration of our marriage with all out friends and family from afar. No matter where we are, we'll always love Kansas City and we wouldn't want to celebrate anywhere else. This is where we met and nothing could be more definitive of our relationship than our favorite beer with our favorite people.
For some reason, this site has made it difficult to RSVP so I have removed the option on the website. We will be sending additional save the dates/invitations closer to the new date and there will be physical RSVP cards included with those.
