When asked how Candace and Steven met, they reply "The county fair!". Traveling within the same friends group, it was only a matter of time that their paths would cross. On September 2nd 2017, that group decided to ride together to the Columbia County Fair. Everyone (maybe a few too many people) piled in Candace's 2-Door Honda Civic and made their way into town. The rest of the night was spent in the beer tent and hanging out at a "garage party" after the beer tent closed. Throughout the night there was flirting and fun conversation had between the two. Steven said to their friend and Maid of Honor Sara, "I'm gonna ask her for her number" and by the end of the night, he did just that. From that night, the two have been inseparable. Always supportive of each other’s achievements and goals, they’ve helped one another obtain the careers they love. In their down time Candace and Steven can be found at home working on house projects, playing with their dog Tito or snuggling with their cat Walter.
When Candace was planning a trip to see her best friend Cheyenne get married in Pennsylvania she had no idea she was also helping to plan her own engagement. While scrolling on Instagram months before she’d seen a video of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon and thought to herself she’d love to see the beautiful views for herself one day. Looking for lodging for her friends wedding she remembered the PA Grand Canyon and mentioned to Steven they could visit it on their way to the wedding while staying close-by. Sneakily, Steven took the idea and ran with it; researched the hiking trails with the best views and easily picked the very best spot. Trying to sneak the ring out of the house while Candace was packing the car to get ready to leave was a whole other story. Steven proposed at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon at Barbour Rock in front of the most stunning views.
