Although neither of us can remember where or when we met, we know we met during our college years at NC State (2010 - 2015). We weren't close during that time, but we would see each other on occasion at school events, like tailgating for Wolfpack Football. Fast forward years later (2019), Jamie was living in Charlotte and visited Raleigh for a weekend when she ran into Ryan at an old favorite bar, Boxcar. Over the next few months we starting dating, which was made a lot easier due to Jamie's work schedule where she travelled from Charlotte to Wilmington each week. We made long distance work for about a year and half before Jamie moved back to Raleigh, and we've been here ever since! Ryan proposed in 2023 on a trip to Iceland, which is a destination that we'd dreamed of going to since we started dating (we'd have gone earlier, but we can thank the Pandemic for that delay). Ryan didn't have a set plan for the proposal. But, on day 2 of the trip, we hiked down to see the 4th tallest waterfall in Iceland (Haifoss) after we had snorkeled between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The weather was spectacular - only party cloudy, which is rare for Iceland. The mix of the sun and the mist from the waterfall created a double rainbow, and Ryan knew that was the moment. We're so excited to continue our love story and can't wait to celebrate with all our friends and family!
