After much thought, we have decided to proceed with the wedding as planned! With that being said, we have been in constant communication with our venue and caterer to ensure we are following proper protocol. The ceremony will be outside and the reception will be in the barn. There are two barn doors that will be open as well as industrial fans on the ceiling to provide ventilation. At this time we are not requiring our guests to wear a mask but, if you feel more comfortable, please feel free to wear one! As we continue to navigate our way through COVID-19, please check back here for updates! Lastly, Jordan and I want everyone to know that we understand if you do not feel comfortable attending our wedding because of COVID-19. There will be no hard feelings, as we know this is a difficult time for everyone.
Jordan and Lauren met in a class called Global Health during the fall semester of 2015 at UW- La Crosse. Jordan missed the memo as to what group he was in, so a friend told him to join his group, the same one Lauren was in. After sending the wrong Lauren an email, Jordan found the right one on Facebook and simply asked if she liked coffee. The next day, Jordan showed up with a coffee in hand! As time passed, they began to talk more each day until eventually moving seats to be able to sit next to each other. From then on, Jordan would supply morning coffee and Lauren would supply answers to the daily homework.
On September 24th, 2017, Jordan took Lauren to their favorite park in Eau Claire, WI. They walked to a bench that overlooked a small lake. Jordan said he had found a cool relationship building exercise online and wanted to try it out. He handed Lauren a blank piece of paper and a Ring Pop. He told her to write down everything she loved about him and what they needed to work on and he would do the same. After, they would share what they wrote and end by giving each other the Ring Pops. He called it "A Ring Pop Proposal." Lauren had no idea what was coming next. When it came time for Jordan to share, he recapped all of the big moments in their relationship, as he got to the end, with tears in his eyes, he said today was the next big step. He got down on one knee and opened his Ring Pop wrapper to reveal a box. It hit Lauren at that moment, this was actually happening. Tears filled her eyes as she shook her head yes. To this day, Jordan claims that Lauren never actually said yes because she was crying too much. They then drove around the park where both of their families were waiting with a picnic to celebrate. Later, Lauren found out that Jordan had the ring in the Ring Pop wrapper for months, sitting on his desk in their apartment. Good thing chocolate is Lauren's type of candy!
