Question

About Orthodox Weddings

Answer

The Orthodox wedding service is a deeply symbolic and prayerful rite known as the Mystery of Crowning. During the service, there are no spoken vows; rather, the couple is united through prayers and blessings. Crowns, symbolizing the glory and honor bestowed upon them, are placed upon the bride and groom. The couple will partake in a ceremonial walk around the Gospel and the altar, representing their first steps as husband and wife in the Church. Guests of all backgrounds are warmly welcome. Please enter reverently and feel free to participate quietly in prayer. You may follow the service program, which will be provided at the church.
