Kristen and Schuyler met through a connection of friends in our high school band. Schuyler played the drums and Kristen played the flute. In junior year of high school Schuyler and Kristen began dating and have been together ever since.

Kristen every year would get an ornament for Christmas from her mom that symbolized something significant that happened during the year. Schuyler placed the engagement ring inside the box that was shaped like a Christmas ornament. Kristen opened her present on Christmas day in 2019. Schuyler grabbed the ornament out of the box, got down on one knee, and asked if she would stay with him for the rest of their lives.
