Our Story

In the summer of 2020, Schuyler and Jaden met through a mutual friend, Gavin Naylor (a groomsman), and quickly bonded over their shared love of surfing whenever they got the chance. One thing led to another, and before they knew it, they couldn’t go a day without seeing each other. On December 9th, 2020, Jaden made it official by asking Schuyler to be his girlfriend. Over the next five years, they pursued their goals side by side. Jaden graduated from three fire academies, ultimately making his way to his dream department as a firefighter paramedic. Schuyler was accepted to Cal Poly, where she graduated with honors, earning her bachelor’s degree in Child Development. She began working at a preschool center, worked her way into management, and is now the director of an infant center. Through life’s highest highs and lowest lows—traveling the world together and navigating the loss of both of their grandparents—they have always leaned on one another. In the summer of 2025, they took their first cruise across the Atlantic Ocean, where Jaden proposed to Schuyler in front of a breathtaking Icelandic waterfall overlooking a fjord. Little blessings appeared throughout the day. Unbeknownst to Jaden, the waterfall was called “The Wedding Waterfall.” After the proposal, the tour stopped at a small Icelandic farm where they were served traditional wedding bread and met a farm dog named Skuggi—the name they later gave their first cat that same year. That evening, they witnessed the most beautiful sunset of the trip (and the only one), which felt especially meaningful when Schuyler’s Aunt Chris said, “The heavens are rejoicing.” That sunset was all the proof they needed. After returning home, Schuyler wanted to visit a potential wedding venue—See Canyon Fruit Ranch—a place she had visited many times as a child and one filled with cherished memories. They were warmly welcomed by John, who gave them a tour, snapped a corny photo under the altar, and talked with them about their journey as a couple. As they left that day, they both knew this was the place: somewhere they could continue to visit with family and hold close to their hearts forever. We cannot wait to create so many special memories on our wedding day, and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support we’ve received throughout our journey. Every one of you has played a meaningful role in shaping our lives.
