Ian Buchanan

Groom

Allison Marie

Bride

James Joseph

Best Man

Otherwise known as Dad, I think I get to say that I have known Ian the longest or at least the second longest of anyone. It has been a beautiful journey to witness Ian’s coming into the world as an enthusiastic young boy, watching all the ages and stages of development throughout the years. Given that I am an engineer and Mary Lynne is a social worker, this upbringing offered a balance in Ian that now reflects a combination of heart and head. Ian is a deep, soulful human being with an ability to do the critical thinking necessary to navigate the complex world that we live in. He has learned to work hard, help others and fight the good fight. We are thrilled that Ian has found in Allison someone that can keep up with his intellectual discussions, love of reading and all the things that smart people do, while also having the balance of a such a kind heart and giving nature. I am immensely proud of the man Ian has become and will never forget the moment he asked me to be his best man. I truly look forward the years that we will all have together and the happiness that they will bring to each other and to the whole family.

Hannah Elizabeth

Matron of Honor

I am honored to be the matron of honor. I have known the groom my whole life- he is my big brother. Ian and I have always been close, I was never far behind his endeavors, curious how I can stand with him. In this case I was invited to stand with him and his love on their most happiest day- yet. Allison and I have become sisters, she graciously welcomed me into her family and I wide-armed, hugged her as another sister to the family. Again, I am honored to be here with them to witness this day!

Christopher Lewis

Groomsman

I find myself as one of Ian’s groomsmen. Ian and I go back over a decade. Beginning as friends to become brothers. In 2017 I joined the clan as I married Ian’s sister, Hannah. Ian and I get on well and have shared many laughs, with many more to come. Whenever we gather, I know we will create memories and many moments. Congratulations to Ian as he marries his person.

Rachael Lorraine

Bridesmaid

Allison and I have known each other for my whole life. It started when she lived with us for a short period of time in Eastlake. She has always been a big sister figure to me even after I left the state for many years. I am excited to continue to grow with her and Ian!

Scott Christian

Groomsman

I first met Ian in highschool and we have been really good friends since. He’s one of the most righteous dudes and his passion for life is a great inspiration. One of my favorite things about him is his ability to have conversations about anything, there’s almost never a dull moment when we’re hanging out. Through good times and bad Ian’s been there and his positivity and perspective on life have definitely influenced me in a positive manner. Whenever I need help in life I can always depend on him to give me some good advice and point me in the right direction. Knowing that Ian has found his person to spend his life with makes me really happy, and when you spend time with the two of them you know they have something special. I am honored to be able to celebrate this joyous occasion and wish nothing but the best for the both of them!

Casey Lee

Bridesmaid

My name is Casey and I’ve been best friends with Alli since 2003 when she moved (almost) next door. Alli and I went to school together, and road the same bus starting in 1999! She’s been a big sister and an incredible best friend to me ever since. I’ve been blessed to look up to and grow up alongside Alli through the grade school years: through school plays to dances, finishing homework after school, and hours of volleyball and collecting sea glass by the lake. Even after moving away, through our high school, college, and now transition to adulthood, Alli has always been my rock; sharing her kindness, love, wisdom, and musical taste with me and always serving an example of the type of person and friend I aspire to be. From walking to the bus stop together to now watching you walk down the aisle, I cannot wait to celebrate such an incredible and special friend as well as the love Alli and Ian have for each other! Love you, Alli!

Benjamin Oviatt

Groomsman

As a young, impressionable kid, Ian was always someone I looked up to in so many ways. Whether it be playing sports growing up or just hanging out with the cousins in Grandma and Grandpa’s attic, he was always someone I wanted to emanate and grow up to be like. I think he liked to dunk and bully us younger cousins around a bit on the basketball court. Built character. But it was always too much fun. I remember coming up with a baseball/football hybrid sport, “basefoot”, and playing that in Uncle Jim and Aunt ML’s yard. Always had to bring our baseball gloves to family functions. Fast forward however many years and we’re embarking on Boundary Waters trips in the name of the Big Guy, engaging in certain adult activities together, and being involved in each other’s weddings. Time flies and I can’t wait for our next trip(s) and whatever else we get into. To the best backcountry chef I know, cheers 🍻

Molly Grace

Bridesmaid

Hi, I’m Molly, I am Ian’s younger sister. I have a passion for traveling, music and love spending time outside. Allison is my best friend; she is one of the most accepting people I know. We got close because we both love crystals and would go on trips to V-Rock. There was also bonding over huge plates of sushi. I couldn’t be happier to be able to call her my sister 💜

William Daniel

Groomsman

My name is Will and I am a cousin of Ian’s from Colorado. I have memories of Ian from as long as I can remember, being at Grandma and Grandpa’s house playing ping pong, fishing on the boundary waters, to tossing bean bags every year at Honey Fest. Despite the physical distance between us I have always been able to look up to Ian as I’ve grown up and know he is there for me. Ian is someone who I can always call simply to get a breath of fresh air and talk to. He has always been such a welcoming and joyful person and I’m so happy he found someone like Allison who brings that same light to other peoples day. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two and the memories that I will get to make with them. I’m thankful to be a part of their big day and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone! Congratulations Ian and Allison!

Sophie Nicole

Bridesmaid

I first met Allison in kindergarten where we became fast and lifelong friends. We were close as children, especially in elementary school, spending our summers and after school days walking around Eastlake aimlessly. From trips down to the lake to Surfside pool and the library, we rode our bikes and explored every inch of the city together. In fifth grade, when I changed schools, we saw each other less frequently, but Alli remained one of the people closest to my heart. Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of "meeting" her over and over again in various stages of her life. Life kept us each busy in our own endeavors and sometimes there would be an entire year or more where we really didn't talk before meeting up again and learning new and exciting things about each other's lives. During each in between period, Allison and I grew and changed and another layer of our friendship developed for it. Our friendship has taught me that true friendship can withstand the test of time and distance and that it really is quality over quantity that matters. In the few times I've had the pleasure of meeting Ian, he has become a great friend of mine, as well, and it is clear that Alli has found quality in him. I am so honored to get to stand by their sides as they walk into their future together. I'm immensely proud of the woman that Allison has become but, to me, she'll always be the quirky 10 year old girl casting spells with tree branches in my backyard ❤️

David Leonard

Groomsman

It's an absolute honor to be a part of this steppingstone in Ian and Allison’s journey together. I remember playing pickle in the middle in the front of Grandma and Grandpa's house. The uncles would throw the ball and Ian and I would run until we couldn’t anymore. As we got older, we were the ones who would throw the ball trying to tag the younger cousins. Smiling and laughing the whole time, I was unaware that this moment would be one of the best memories of Ian and I. I know there will be many more created in our lives, but this one has a special place in my heart. I look forward to being part of many more memories to come with the addition of Allison. Congratulations to the both of you!

Kelly Elizabeth

Bridesmaid

Kelly and Alli met doing community theatre as teenagers. They became fast friends and consider each other "soul sisters". You can often find them discussing the meaning of life over beers, breaking into song, playing dungeons and dragons, or sharing new ideas, books and poetry with one another. Kelly is so honored to be a part of this special day and can't wait to celebrate with everyone!

John (Bear) William

Groomsman

Who is Ian?: Ian is one of the most welcoming souls I’ve ever met. He leads his life with compassion, love and empathy. Many individuals can learn a thing or two from him, weather it’s about reading, philosophy, baseball, and or cooking!! The first time we met was at the traditional Princic family fishing trip up in good ole Ely, Minnesota. For a week Ian educated me on all sorts of things, but the thing that always stood out to me was our conversations on The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. I noticed him reading it one morning after breakfast. Noticing the familiarities of the cover I asked him how he was liking the book so far. He than told me it was 3rd or 4th time reading it so he was already well versed in it. For the next week he would share a passage, share a thought and would express different ways of making the world a better place. My first thought of this was “There is no way Ian is a Princic” the reaction of not understanding how a Princic CAN be interested in Philosophy, stoicism, feelings and spirituality blew my mind. (after hanging out with the Princics long enough I have learned their not a very big “feelings” kind of family , which is absolutely fine! I come from a place of ENORUMUS feelings, so seeing a Princic think bigger than others is awesome) Ian has become a great friend since that amazing trip up to Ely, and I can’t wait for many more trips. Congratulation to the both of you, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store

Kiely Joy

Bridesmaid

I’m Kiely, and Alli is my cousin and my godmother, or my fairy godmother as she likes to say! Alli has always been the big sister I’ve never had growing up. She is one of the smartest, kindest, and most down to earth people and I am so grateful to have her in my life. We’ve laughed, cried, played barbies, and gone on some amazing adventures together! I am so excited to be standing up at the alter with my magical fairy godmother Alli and her wonderful fiancé Ian! :)

Tiernan Daniel

Usher

My name is Tiernan O’Malia. Allison is my first cousin, my moms sisters daughter. It was only Alli and I for a while before the other cousins came along. She taught me how to share and how to be a sibling before I had any actual brothers and sisters. Now that we’re older, I love to hang out with her and absorb her knowledge, wisdom and her aura. There will never be a shortage on things to learn from Alli!

Grace Kathryn

Bridesmaid

Hello! I am one of Ian's cousins on his mom's side of the family. I am from Colorado, but currently live in California with my boyfriend and two dogs. Ian has always been like an older brother to me. Since he was little, he has always been so caring, accepting and kind. Being 1,000 miles away from each other our entire lives has never kept the us from having some of the best memories together. From him tossing me off the boat at the ranch as young kids to cracking a cold one and talking for hours, I can confidently say, Ian is one of the best people I know. I met Allison in 2018 when Ian brought her to our family event we do every Labor Day weekend. We had an instant connection. She has always been someone I can lean on. Every time we get together, it's always constant laughs, memories, and heart to heart conversations. I always knew she would be a great addition to our family. I'm so happy for the union of these two beautiful souls.

Lawrence Joseph III

Usher

My name is Larry McGarry, I am Allison’s cousin, but even she could attest, I am more of a little brother. From the time I was born, Allison and I were very close; she babysat me as a kid and even lived with me for a time. Together we enjoyed walks to the public library and our favorite ice cream shop. Since that time that now seems so long ago, there is no one I have been able to confide in more and that is something I will always be grateful for. Although I am no longer the little boy she once looked out for, the bond that Allison and I hold can never be broken. I wish nothing but happiness for her in the next chapter of her life.
