Our Story

FROM CASCADES TO COLORADO

Before they ever found each other, Erin and Luke were both doing the same thing: learning to trust God with the one desire they couldn’t seem to fulfill on their own. Erin had spent her twenties pouring herself into the things she loved: art, the outdoors, deep friendships, travel, and building a creative life in the Pacific Northwest. She prayed for years for the right person, sometimes with great intentionality, sometimes as a quiet side note at the end of a letter. Some seasons that trust felt like an ocean. Other times it was just a thread. But she kept holding on. Luke had reached his own turning point. After years of dating and doing things his own way, he stopped asking God to bring the right woman to him and started asking God to make him the right man first. To mold him into someone who actually lived the values and faith he hoped to find in a partner. From that point on, he felt a quiet confidence settle in that God would be faithful. Neither of them knew the other existed yet. In the summer of 2025, Luke came across one of Erin’s Instagram posts and was immediately struck by how much her values and outlook on life mirrored his own. She lived in Washington state though, so he filed it away and moved on. Or tried to. Over the next few months she kept showing up on his feed, and something kept pulling at his heart. One evening in September, after Erin commented on one of his art posts, he prayed about it and asked God for a small sign before he reached out. The very next morning, Erin messaged him. It was the sign he needed. She was planning a trip to Colorado and wanted to know about art markets in the area. He answered her questions thoroughly, then added a “by the way…” at the end asking if she’d be up for a virtual coffee. After a little harmless recon, she said yes. One coffee turned into two. Two turned into five. Hours-long conversations with no distractions, just two people talking about everything under the sun and realizing, quietly, that all the lights were green. Erin tried not to get ahead of herself, though with Luke it was nearly impossible. Luke left their very first FaceTime knowing deep down that she was the woman he was going to marry. They met in person for the first time in January 2026 during a ski trip Erin had already planned to Colorado. It turned into the longest, best first date. Over the months that followed, they kept dreaming and planning together across the miles until God made a way for Erin to make the move to Colorado. Somewhere in Utah surrounded by wide open sky and ancient red rock, beneath a gorgeous arch formation, he asked her to marry him. She said yes with her whole heart. They had each been trusting God with this story for a long time, on their own, holding onto threads of faith they couldn’t always explain. As it turns out, He was writing something better than either of them could have imagined. They will have an intimate wedding ceremony on August 10th with immediate family, and are inviting you to celebrate with them the weekend of September 12th. The best chapters are still ahead, and they are so glad you are here to celebrate with them.
