Set against the Blue Ridge Mountains, King Family Vineyards is a family-owned winery known for award-winning Virginia wines and stunning scenery. Enjoy a tasting, relax on the lawn, and take in the peaceful countryside atmosphere. It's about a 25 minute drive from Downtown Charlottesville.
Humpback Rocks Trailhead
Hiking Humpback is a beloved Charlottesville tradition. It’s a short but very steep trail, and the panoramic views at the top make the climb completely worth it.
Blue Mountain Brewery
A beautiful spot for a casual lunch, local beer, and mountain views. Blue Mountain offers spacious indoor and outdoor seating, great food, and fun lawn games. A great place to stop after hiking Humpback.
Saunders-Monticello Trail
This wide, well-maintained trail is perfect for an easier walk or hike. It winds through beautiful woods and can easily be paired with a visit to historic Monticello.
Bodo's Bagels
Bodo’s is a beloved Charlottesville institution famous for its freshly baked New York–style bagels and simple, delicious sandwiches. Perfect for breakfast or a quick bite during your visit. We stop by here every time we visit Charlottesville! Since it's UVA move-in weekend, we recommend checking out the Preston Ave or Emmett St location to avoid crowds.
